How To Transfer Google Authenticator codes to a New Device


To perform the below process, please make sure you have the follow:

  • Both Devices in Reach
  • Google Authenticator on both Devices


Note: Due to the use of two devices, I will be referring to the device that has the current google authenticator code as Device One and the Device that we are Transferring as Device Two.


1. On both of your devices, Open Google Authenticator, you can do this from the application store or by Searching it on your phone.



2. In the top right corn you select the 3 dots to open the hidden menu, Than select "Transfer Accounts"




3. On Device One with the google Authentication are located currently select "Export Accounts" At this point you will be asked to place your authenticate thump print of Face ID in before continuing.

4. On the Next Page Select which account you would like to Export, by Default all account will be selected. 

5. Select Export/ Next



6. You should now see a QR authenticator code on Device One, keep this authenticator code accessible.

7. On Device Two Select "Import Accounts" 

8. You will see the below prompt, Select Scan QR code and than on Device Two, Scan the code on Device One.




Once Completed all the Authenticator codes will be exported from Device One to Device Two.
